Autobiography - Elvis Barceló

 My name is Elvis Alexander Barceló Zelaya, I was born on July 5, 2000. I am from Santiago and  live in Recoleta. My family is my mother and my aunt, which I love and respect.

 I studied in different schools where I made great friends. In 2017 I finished high school and the next year I started studying Audit at the University (UNAB). 

In the year 2019 I retire from the career and I decide to study cinema, that was the best decision I’ve made in years. The following year I entered the cinema career, but I did not get to know my colleagues by the covid 19.

I’m a green belt in American Kenpo Karate and purple Belt in Kung Fu.

Regarding my hobbies, I like watching movies, talking to friends, making shortfilmas, practicing martial arts and collecting figures.

 My favorite theme is montage, as it allows me to create a story and sense through a chain of images  together with a sound according to what is seen on the screen. montage has allowed me to adopt a style as an audiovisual producer, It has also helped me to have another way of seeing when filming a project. The best thing about editing is that you have thousands of possibilities to organize a story by fragmenting the reality video. However when I work post sound production is very stressful, as everything must be perfectly organized, but if you move a few seconds the audio clip should be done all over again or at least that’s what I always do. What made me more difficult in the beginning was to create progressive rhythms in the shorts that I did before entering the university, but thanks to the classes of Professor Rodrigo Fernandez I could realize how to carry out different rhythms and progressions of history. BLOG 2: MY BEST HOLIDAYS EVER!

  I will tell you about my best holidays! It was in January of this year 2023. First time we organize a trip with my best friends, we went to Algarrobo and booked an apartment in San Alfonso del Mar a month in advance. We were 7 people in the department, we divided many tasks and among them is cooking.  Three nights in a row we went to a disco called Pao Pao, where we danced and got drunk and made friends. However, the best part of the trip was walking around the beach and kayaking, because we laughed at our mistakes and we liked to take pictures enjoying the moment. After 5 days we went to Santiago, it was a sad farewell. Several of the group had to work among other things. We are currently planning our next destination, Brazil for the 2024 holiday.

Blog 5 - Changes to my study programme

Hi everyone! My career is usually practical where you learn doing things, but most of the time we must learn content that is not useful for our development as a Filmmaker. I would change some unnecessary subjects like elective journalism subjects that take a lot of time to create our ideas and instead I would add practical subjects like script writing, advertising, and economics. Another thing that would change would be the audiovisual equipment, since they are too old and at the time of sending projects to film festivals they reject them because they do not meet the standard of exhibition quality.  In addition, the accessories for the cameras are mostly analog when in the working world they are digital, and when it comes time to work in production companies we do not know how to use those devices. Finally, make an infrastructure with rooms specialized in sound and scenery for practical filming in classes.
